Job summary

Flagler County is seeking a Parks and Recreation Manager to supervise the operation of county parks and related facilities, including boating, camping and events. The role requires planning, policy development and cost management to maintain high-quality recreational spaces for residents and visitors.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, 7 years in park maintenance, and 4 years of supervisory experience, with strong communication and budgeting abilities.

Qualifications

• Must have a working knowledge of sound management practices for recreation and park facilities.
• Must be able to plan, direct and supervise a large staff of trades and office personnel.
• Must be able to implement an annual budget and communicate effectively in writing and speaking.
• Experience with modifying, installing and repairing buildings, fences, trails and park facilities.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes and directs a staff to maintain park facilities.
• Develops policies and programs to improve efficiency, safety and quality of park maintenance.
• Coordinate with vendors and inspect progress and payments.
• Inspect parks and facilities, identify maintenance needs and plan repairs.
• Address resident complaints and follow up on issues.
• Schedule events at county facilities and manage resources for recreation activities.
• Oversee operation and maintenance of all parks.
• Train and supervise staff in recreation and park activities.
• Provide input for annual budget and review payroll and purchases.
