Job summary

Sarasota County Government is seeking a Parks Internal Operations Division Manager to lead the division, oversee daily operations, budgeting, and program development. You will coordinate with staff, contractors, and partners to maintain parks, plan projects, and drive efficiency.

The role emphasizes leadership, strategic planning, and ensuring facilities meet lifecycle standards while managing the division's capital and maintenance programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in project management, recreation, leisure services, one of the biological or natural sciences, or a related field.
• -AND-six (6) years of professional experience related to the position.
• -AND-at least four (4) or more years of supervisory experience.
• -OR-A Master’s degree can substitute for two years of professional experience.
• May consider substituting years of experience for the 4-year degree.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Parks Internal Operations Division in the development and implementation of department and division goals.
• Work with staff and contractors to provide well-maintained parks and venues, and to plan and implement projects in parks.
• Prioritize projects based on asset age, condition, operational need, and funding; schedule preventive maintenance.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in project management, recreation, leisure services, biological/natural sciences, or related field

Master’s degree can substitute for two years of professional experience
