Job summary

Smurfit Westrock plc is seeking a Scheduler to produce a daily manufacturing schedule that meets customer needs and optimizes efficiencies. The role involves ship-date assignment, forward and backward scheduling, and coordinating with customer service, manufacturing, and logistics teams, while maintaining rigorous safety and 5S/SQF standards.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and at least 3 years in a manufacturing setting, with strong organizational and communication skills

Qualifications

• 3+ years work-related experience in a manufacturing environment and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent organizational skills to include follow-up and accountability.
• Professional customer satisfaction skills needed to maintain positive external and internal relationships.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills to include effective listening.

Responsibilities

• Assigns ship dates by reviewing backlogs, determining ship date, and entering it in Amtech System.
• Creates daily schedules using forward and backward scheduling to meet due dates and capacity needs.
• Coordinates with customer service, manufacturing, and account representatives for order status and changes.
• Promotes teamwork at all levels and adheres to safety policies and procedures, including PPE usage.
• Maintains 5S and SQF guidelines in the department and reports food safety concerns to management.
