Job summary

Mercy Health in Perrysburg, OH seeks a skilled Surgical Technologist to assist in intraoperative supply chain optimization and quality measures.

You will advise management across Surgical and Supply Chain on cost containment, preference card development, and resource utilization, driving improvements in five key areas: card maintenance, waste reduction, savings opportunities, surgeon onboarding, and conversions.

Qualifications

• Required: Vocational/Technical Degree in a surgical setting.
• Specialty/Major: Surgical Tech Program.
• Completion of Surgical Technologist Program is required.
• Active Surgical Technologist Certification is required.
• Minimum 3 years of peri‑operative experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with EPIC Op-Time and HSM preferred.

Responsibilities

• Rounds daily in the OR to communicate with surgeons and update preference cards.
• Collaborate with Clinical Coordinators to maintain and update all preference cards.
• Maintain direct communication with surgeons and leads of specialty lines.
• Define resources for cases with appropriate stakeholders.
• Identify cost-effective materials and work with supply chain to implement changes.
• Review surgical schedules and ensure resource availability across departments.
• Coordinate vendor changes and trials for new products and conversions.
• Maintain progress records for reporting and system-wide improvements.
