Job summary

Qualifications

• Completion of a Surgical Technology program.
• Completion of a suturing class approved by supervisor.
• Proficient in all types of surgical procedures and maintains advanced knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provides a clean, safe and efficient area for optimal patient care in the OR.
• Prepares materials, supplies and equipment using aseptic techniques for procedures.
• Sets up the room, moves equipment and operates OR devices during cases.
• Notifies staff of equipment and supply problems and assists with transporting items.
• Acts as a resource and precepts Surgical Technologists I; participates in committees.
• Performs patient positioning and lifting with proper technique.
• Demonstrates knowledge of age-specific care and growth/development across the lifespan.
