Job summary

The New York City Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) is seeking a Director of Operations for its Research and Analytics Division (RAD). This role oversees procurement, recruitment, budget, and administrative functions to support policy research and data-driven investigations.

Reporting to the Deputy Commissioner, you will coordinate contracts, manage vendors, supervise staff, and help shape the division's growth.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree and at least six months of procurement experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Associate degree with 18 months of relevant procurement or contract-management experience; or a high school diploma with 2.5 years of related experience.
• Experience negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships is preferred.
• Residency in NYC or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating all procurement needs of the Division, including purchasing, vendor communication, contracts, and forms.
• Coordinating employee recruitment and onboarding on behalf of the Division.
• Responding to FOIL and audit requests for Division data and documents.
• Managing the Division budget, organization chart, and administrative personnel actions.
• Project managing key Division initiatives.
• Drafting and maintaining the Division’s policy and procedural manual.
• Managing the Division’s physical space.
• Supervising staff in any of the above.
