Job summary

OpenAI, Inc. is seeking a Strategy and Operations Lead to partner with the Creative Partnerships leadership team in San Francisco.

You will translate complex priorities into clear plans, decisions, and operating rhythms to drive critical work forward. You will maintain visibility into the team’s priorities, portfolio, budget, headcount, partnerships, and needs, working with Creative, Production, Brand Marketing, Finance, Procurement, and Legal to surface tradeoffs and keep initiatives moving.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Strategy and Operations or related strategic operating role.
• Trusted partner to senior leaders, helping set priorities and align teams.
• Experience building planning processes, leadership cadences, portfolio systems and operating models.

Responsibilities

• Serve as strategic and operational partner to Creative Partnerships leadership.
• Design and run the team’s core operating rhythms: planning cycles, reviews, leadership meetings, decision forums, offsites, cross-functional comms.
• Maintain a clear view of active/upcoming work, commitments, dependencies, capacity, and risks.
• Prioritize opportunities against goals and determine where to invest or redirect resources.
• Lead annual/half-year planning, roadmap development, and progress reviews with budget and headcount in mind.
• Own headcount planning and resource requests.
• Collaborate with Resource Management and Production to anticipate staffing needs and risks.
• Align with Finance to maintain visibility into allocations, forecasts, and actuals.
• Develop scenarios to clarify costs and value of proposed programs and partnerships.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives to scale, including operating-model design and portfolio management.
• Organize teams by ownership and milestones with clear decision rights and rhythms.
• Create concise executive memos and operating materials for quick alignment.
