Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia and the CSRA is seeking an Onboarding Specialist to deliver a consistent, welcoming onboarding experience for new team members across GIMG, Helms College, and Edgar’s Hospitality Group.

You will manage the employee journey from accepted offer to active employment, coordinate pre-employment steps, orientation, and initial system access, and ensure data integrity across HRIS systems. This role requires strong coordination with HR, payroll, IT, and leaders.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of administration and data management experience.
• 3+ years with software systems (HR/finance preferred).
• Knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, able to analyze data.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently with strong self-management.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate end-to-end onboarding for new hires across GIMG, Helms College, and Edgar’s Hospitality Group, from accepted offer through completion of the introductory employment period.
• Serve as the primary onboarding contact for candidates and new hires, providing clear, timely communication regarding next steps, documentation, orientation, schedules, benefits, policies, and first-day expectations.
• Prepare and distribute offer-related, pre-employment, and onboarding materials in partnership with Talent Acquisition and HR.
• Monitor completion of pre-employment activities (background checks, drug screens when applicable, I-9, references, credentialing).
• Coordinate new-hire orientation schedules, materials, presenters, facilities, technology, and attendance records.
• Deliver or support orientation content introducing employees to the organization’s mission, values, culture, safety, policies, benefits, and resources.
• Maintain electronic personnel files and onboarding records in compliance with policy and regulations.
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports related to headcount, onboarding activity, and compliance.
