Job summary

City of Snoqualmie seeks a Budget Manager to perform comprehensive financial planning and budgeting for the City. You will manage day-to-day budgeting, forecasting, and policy implementation while providing guidance to City employees on related matters.

The role requires thorough knowledge of financial systems, GAAP, and capital budgeting. You may attend Council and committee meetings as directed and contribute to long-term financial planning with independence and analytical rigor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in relevant field.
• Five years of progressively responsible governmental finance experience.
• Two years of supervisory experience.
• Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee budget development processes, including forecasts, models, and analyses.
• Assist departments in formulating and developing budgets.
• Monitor fund balances to ensure compliance with appropriations and policies.
• Present financial information to decision-makers and prepare budget reports.
• Coordinate and attend budget review meetings and follow up as needed.
• Develop and implement financial policies in areas such as reserves and long-term planning.
• Lead staff and provide performance feedback.
• Attend meetings as requested and serve as backup in the Director’s absence.
