Job summary

The City of Kennewick seeks an experienced Finance Manager to lead accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, debt administration, and financial systems. Reporting to the Finance Director, this role will supervise staff and collaborate with departments to support the City’s financial goals.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance/business, five+ years of financial statement experience with GAAP, and at least three years in a leadership role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field.
• Five or more years of experience in preparing financial statements and reports and GAAP application.
• Three years of supervisory or project lead experience.
• Public sector work experience is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, debt administration, and financial systems.
• Supervise professional and paraprofessional accounting staff and coordinate with departments across the city.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and conduct financial analyses for decision making.
• Oversee year-end closing, ACFR preparation, and other budgeting/financial reports.
• Coordinate audits and assist with CIP budgeting and grant accounting.
