Job summary

MacDonald-Miller Facility Solutions, located in Kent, WA, seeks a Buyer to procure commodities, materials, equipment, and services to keep projects moving. You will build relationships with internal teams and suppliers, balance price, quality, and delivery, and own purchasing decisions from start to finish.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience.
• Strong knowledge of the MEP industry, equipment, parts, and materials.
• Experience working with suppliers, managing purchasing activities, resolving issues.
• Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and take ownership.
• A degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred; direct construction or MEP experience valued.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Great Plains and/or Power BI is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with internal teams and suppliers to understand business needs, clarify expectations, and ensure materials and services are available when needed.
• Develop a strong understanding of MEP equipment, parts, materials, and specialties while identifying best-value purchasing solutions for MMFS.
• Establish productive relationships with suppliers, negotiate pricing and terms, and address purchasing or delivery issues proactively.
• Consistently meet purchasing goals, maintain accurate purchasing information, and take ownership from request through delivery.
• Identify and resolve purchasing challenges and look for opportunities to improve processes and reduce costs.
• Share knowledge, support Associates and Coordinators, and contribute to a collaborative procurement team.
