Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. seeks a seasoned Materials Manager to plan, source, and manage materials for datacenter projects. You will optimize inventory, drive supplier performance, and ensure timely procurement through established best practices.

The role emphasizes cost reduction, GMROI improvement, and end-to-end logistics management, including storage, receiving, inventory, and shipping for project sites.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of purchasing experience or equivalent.
• Good computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office.
• Integrated Financial System and/or ERP experience, such as Commerce Center, JD Edwards, preferred.
• CPM or advanced education in Purchasing, Logistics or Supply Chain Management is a plus.
• Relevant product knowledge.
• Prior negotiating experience helpful.
• Datacenter industry experience is helpful.
• Knowledge of Copper/Fiber Optic Testing/Cabling standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes BOMs to evaluate procured materials for projects.
• Creates systematic ordering processes to minimize inventory and shipping costs.
• Develops relationships with materials vendors and drives on-time delivery.
• Supports bidding by offering pricing schedules for supplies and materials.
• Manages supply-chain issues to ensure product availability.
• Documents and organizes deliveries and returns.
• Executes purchase orders and PO confirmations.
• Manages special orders and tracking from PO to delivery.
