Job summary

Panelmatic, Inc. is seeking a Purchasing & Materials Specialist to procure parts and manage stock for production, ensuring on-time delivery and favorable terms.

You will coordinate with suppliers, track inventory levels, and support production with accurate purchasing and backlog control. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in business and 3+ years in materials management, manufacturing, and ERP systems, plus strong communication and cost‑consciousness to optimize procurement cycles

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field and equivalent experience required.
• Three-plus years in materials management and manufacturing.
• Experience using an ERP system to plan and procure material.

Responsibilities

• Purchase the highest quality material at the lowest possible price and in the correct amounts.
• Develops and ensures all elements of the purchase commitment are completed with proper required approvals.
• Reviews requisitions for accuracy and completeness, prepares and processes assigned purchase orders.
• Monitors ideal inventory levels; reorders and purchases items needed for inventory replenishment to ensure on-time delivery while maximizing turns and minimizing carrying cost.
• Reviews order acknowledgments for item, cost and delivery date accuracy and updates the system, and notifies PMs/manufacturing of updates as necessary.
• Expedites (or de-expedites) the delivery of purchases as necessary.
• Monitors shipments to ensure materials come in on time and traces undelivered material when needed.
• Confer with staff, users and suppliers to discuss defective or unacceptable goods/services and determine corrective action.
• Sources and provides material costs to estimating, sales and engineering for opportunities or change orders.
• Provides recommendations regarding materials to drive cost savings and improved availability.
• Developing rapport with suppliers and Panelmatic teammates.
• Performing day-to-day administrative tasks and maintaining information files and paperwork.
• Assists in annual physical inventory activities and/or cycle counting.
