Job summary

Penn State University’s Applied Research Laboratory seeks a Materials Coordinator to join the Supply Chain Department on-site in State College, PA. The role supports procurement activities, material availability, and warehouse organization to ensure project continuity and compliance.

You will collaborate with engineering, program management, manufacturing, procurement, and government property personnel to resolve issues, manage records, and support audits and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience managing physical/digital inventory in a manufacturing, lab, or engineering setting.
• Hands-on use of MRP/ERP systems (item masters, BOMs, transactions, multi-location) and Atlas familiarity.
• Ability to digitize and centralize BOMs, build records, and part numbering with high accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with suppliers, buyers, engineering, and program teams to obtain materials and monitor delivery.
• Maintain organized warehouses and secure storage to boost inventory accuracy and safety.
• Maintain electronic records for inventory management, procurement, and audits; prepare reports.
