Job summary

The Applied Research Laboratory at Penn State University in State College, PA is seeking a Materials Coordinator to join the Supply Chain Department. You will coordinate with suppliers, buyers, engineers, and program teams to obtain materials, monitor delivery, resolve shortages, and support RFQs/RFPs.

On-site role requiring a security-sensitive environment; candidates should have a Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of inventory/ERP experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 3+ years relevant experience.
• Experience with physical/digital inventory management in a manufacturing, lab, or engineering environment.
• Hands-on experience with MRP/ERP systems (Atlas) and BOMs; ability to become a power user.
• Strong digitization and centralization of technical/inventory documentation with high accuracy.
• Knowledge of procurement basics and supplier coordination; familiarity with government property requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with suppliers, buyers, engineers, and program teams to obtain materials and monitor delivery.
• Organize warehouses, stockrooms, and secure storage for optimal inventory accuracy and safety.
• Maintain electronic records for inventory management, procurement, and audits; prepare reports.
• Collaborate across Engineering, Program Management, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Shipping to resolve material issues.
• Ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS, ITAR/EAR, and related government policies.
