Job summary

Penn State's Applied Research Laboratory in State College, PA is seeking a Materials Coordinator to support procurement, inventory control, and logistics for DoD-related projects.

You'll coordinate with engineering, program management, manufacturing, procurement, and security, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS and ITAR/EAR. This is an on-site role with potential travel.

Qualifications

• Inventory and material control in manufacturing, lab, or engineering settings.
• Hands-on MRP/ERP experience, item masters, BOMs, and multi-location inventory; Atlas familiarity preferred.
• Digitizing and centralizing technical/inventory documentation with high accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with suppliers, buyers, engineers, and program teams to obtain materials and monitor delivery schedules.
• Organize warehouses and secure storage to maximize inventory accuracy and safety.
• Maintain electronic records for inventory management, procurement, property accountability, shipping, receiving, QA, and audits.
• Collaborate across Engineering, Program Management, Manufacturing, Procurement, and other functions to resolve material availability and scheduling issues.
• Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, ITAR/EAR, and university policies governing procurement and logistics.
• May supervise staff including hiring, onboarding, and performance management.
