Job summary

Illinois Tool Works is seeking a Buyer/Planner to ensure materials and finished goods meet customer demand while optimizing inventory and supporting production efficiency. You will act as a key link between suppliers, production, customer service, and internal stakeholders to maintain supply continuity, manage delivery performance, and drive cost improvement initiatives.

This role requires MRD planning experience, JDE familiarity, and strong analytical, communication, and decision-making skills,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field.
• Experience with MRD planning systems; JDE preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making in manufacturing/supply chain.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases and business systems.
• Travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Plan and procure finished goods and production materials based on MRD requirements and master production schedule.
• Manage supplier relationships, confirm delivery commitments, expedite orders, and communicate supply risks.
• Monitor inventory, MRD data, lead times, lot sizes, and replenishment parameters.
• Analyze demand requirements daily and adjust planning to support customer and production needs.
• Negotiate with suppliers for pricing, agreements, and cost savings opportunities.
• Partner with Customer Service, Warehousing, Product Management, and Purchasing leadership for launches and inventory transitions.
