Job summary

ITW seeks a Buyer / Planner to plan, purchase and schedule production activities, release POs, and coordinate supply for assigned commodities to ensure on-time delivery.

You will use ERP systems to manage capacity, inventory, and supplier performance while optimizing cost, quality, and lead times. A Bachelor's degree is required, with 5+ years in manufacturing; APICS/CPIM certification and AS400/MAPICS ERP experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional manufacturing experience including planning, buying and inventory control.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work cross-functionally.
• Proficient with computers and Excel for data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Plan, purchase and schedule production activities to meet customer needs and inventory objectives.
• Provide lead times for products based on activity levels.
• Manage inventory to meet goals for active, slow, and obsolete items; ensure on-time delivery.
• Review production schedules and report deviations impacting manufacturing orders.
• Release shop floor orders; maximize on-time delivery using Auto Scheduling where possible.
• Read component specifications and drawings; communicate with suppliers.
• Process ECNs and update POs to reflect revisions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and adhere to company policies.
