Job summary

Encoder Products Company is seeking a Buyer to support manufacturing by sourcing materials and services from approved suppliers. The role focuses on purchasing materials, supplier management, and maintaining ERP/MRP data to ensure on-time delivery and inventory control.

The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years in purchasing or related manufacturing fields, plus an associate or bachelor’s degree in business or supply chain management. The position is onsite with standard day shift.

Qualifications

• Basic working knowledge of purchasing, inventory control, and material planning concepts and procedures.
• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP purchasing and inventory systems.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong negotiation and customer service skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• High attention to detail and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Identify and communicate supply chain risks and lead times.
• Build long-term relationships with suppliers.
• Prepare and maintain purchase orders for timely delivery.
• Monitor open purchase orders and address shortages.
• Assist in supplier research, sourcing, and cost-savings opportunities.
• Maintain procurement records and ERP/MRP data.
• Perform other buyer duties as assigned.
