Job summary

Technology Service Corporation is seeking a forward-thinking Material Planner Scheduler III to oversee material planning for Huntsville, AL. The role integrates Procurement, Production, and Program Management to ensure material availability and optimal inventory while supporting defense contracts.

The position is hybrid, reporting to the Purchasing Manager, and requires 5–7 years in material planning within defense or aerospace. US citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 5-7 years in material planning, supply chain, or production planning in defense/aerospace.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems such as CostPoint, SAP, or Oracle.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
• US Citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage advanced material requirements plans to support production and contracts.
• Analyze demand forecasts, schedules, and inventory trends to ensure material availability and cost efficiency.
• Lead cross-functional teams to address material planning challenges.
• Serve as primary contact for material planning issues and guidance to junior planners.
• Collaborate with Procurement to place orders and ensure timely delivery.
• Develop strategies to optimize inventory, reduce excess and obsolescence, and minimize waste.
• Work with Production and Program Management to address shortages and changes in schedules.
• Adjust plans for contract requirements and unforeseen challenges.
• Identify process improvements to enhance planning efficiency and accuracy.
• Leverage data analytics, MRP capabilities, and best practices to drive innovation.
• Manage daily activities of direct reports.
