Job summary

Technology Service Corporation seeks a Procurement Specialist III to oversee material planning for production, ensuring availability and optimal inventory. You will liaise between Procurement, Production, and Program Management to drive strategic improvements and contract execution.

The role requires strong leadership, deep MRP/ERP experience (Deltek CostPoint, SAP, Oracle), and a proactive approach to optimize supply chains within defense/aerospace contexts. Hybrid work with Huntsville meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in material planning, supply chain management, or production planning, defense/aerospace preferred.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems (Deltek CostPoint, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
• Advanced understanding of material planning, inventory management, and supply chain optimization.
• Familiarity with defense industry supply chain challenges and best practices.
• Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for senior leadership collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage advanced material requirements plans (MRP) to support complex production schedules.
• Analyze demand forecasts, production schedules, and inventory trends to ensure material availability and cost efficiency.
• Lead cross-functional teams to address material planning challenges and implement solutions.
• Be primary contact for material planning issues and guide junior planners.
• Collaborate with Procurement to ensure timely purchase orders and material delivery.
• Optimize inventory levels, reduce excess/obsolete inventory, and minimize waste.
• Address material shortages with Production and Program Management to ensure uninterrupted operations.
• Adjust material plans for changes in schedules or contract requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Use data analytics and MRP system capabilities to drive innovation in material planning.
• Manage daily activities of direct reports.
