Job summary

Technology Service Corporation Defense Services in Huntsville, AL is seeking a forward-thinking Material Planner Scheduler III to oversee the material planning process, ensuring material availability for production while optimizing inventory levels and driving strategic improvements.

This hybrid role reports to the Purchasing Manager and requires leadership across Procurement, Production, and Program Management to support contract deliverables and respond to schedule changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in SCM, BA, or related field required.
• 5–7 years of material planning/supply chain experience in defense/aerospace.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems including Deltek CostPoint, SAP, Oracle.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage advanced MRP to support complex production schedules and contract deliverables.
• Analyze long-term demand forecasts, production schedules, and inventory trends.
• Lead cross-functional teams to address material planning challenges.
• Serve as primary contact for material planning issues and guide junior planners.
• Collaborate with Procurement to ensure timely purchase orders and material delivery.
• Develop strategies to optimize inventory levels and reduce waste.
• Work with Production and Program Management to address shortages.
• Adjust material plans to changes in production schedules or contracts.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance planning efficiency.
• Leverage data analytics and MRP system capabilities to drive innovation.
• Manage daily activities of direct reports.
