Job summary

Technology Service Corporation Defense Services seeks a Procurement Specialist III to oversee material planning, ensuring production readiness and optimized inventory. You will bridge Procurement, Production, and Program Management, guiding improvements and leading a hybrid Huntsville team reporting to the Purchasing Manager.

The role requires 5–7 years in material planning or production planning, extensive MRP/ERP experience, and strong analytical and leadership skills in a defense context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 5-7 years in material planning or production planning, defense/aerospace preferred.
• Extensive experience with MRP/ERP systems (Deltek CostPoint, SAP, Oracle).
• Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
• US Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage advanced material requirements plans (MRP) to support complex production schedules.
• Analyze demand forecasts, production schedules, and inventory trends for cost efficiency.
• Lead cross-functional teams to address planning challenges and implement solutions.
• Serve as primary contact for material planning issues and mentor junior staff.
• Collaborate with Procurement to place orders and ensure timely delivery.
• Optimize inventory, reduce excess/obsolete stock, and minimize waste.
• Coordinate with Production and Program Management to address shortages.
• Adjust plans for schedule or contract changes and drive process improvements.
• Leverage data analytics and ERP capabilities to innovate planning processes.
• Oversee daily activities of direct reports.
