Corning in Concord, NC is seeking a Materials Buyer/Planner to ensure on-time, cost-effective purchases of raw materials and supplies for fiber manufacturing. You will manage end-to-end purchasing, maintain optimal inventory levels, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet production needs.

Qualified candidates have a Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years in buying/planning, with experience in ERP tools (SAP/PeopleSoft) and GSM processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum 3 years experience in a buyer or planning role.
• Experience in manufacturing – operations, planning, quality, engineering, supply chain.
• Experience in inventory management concepts.
• Experience using PeopleSoft, SAP, MES or similar purchasing and inventory tools.
• Experience with GSM processes and buying policies.
• Experience working in a cross-functional team and across multiple levels of the organization, including external suppliers/customers.
• Strong Excel skills, experience setting up planning models with Excel.

Responsabilités

• Plan and purchase raw materials, packaging, parts, services and supplies for Concord operations.
• Own the end-to-end purchasing and logistics process for DICE fiber and serve as the Free Trade Zone governance rep for fiber movement.
• Use the MRP system to build purchasing plans and production schedules; coordinate with customer service, suppliers, receiving, manufacturing and shipping.
• Own inventory goals through strategic stocking decisions and resolve material availability across production lines.
• Support GSM strategies and cross-functional procurement, transportation, supplier management and logistics operations.
• Coordinate materials through final release to manufacturing for new product implementations with cross-functional teams.
• Drive continuous improvement and cost reduction using Lean concepts within Supply Chain.
• Ensure compliance with auditing requirements, Corning standards and the Global Buying Policy; protect IP and resolve invoicing issues with RTP.
