Job summary

Corning Inc. in Concord, NC seeks a Production & Scheduling Coordinator to coordinate MRO repair parts, invoicing, and purchasing activities. This role collaborates with Engineering, Operations, IT, GSM, Finance, and other plant functions to maintain production continuity and accurate inventory.

The position emphasizes supplier follow-up, inventory controls, and timely purchasing records to support plant priorities while minimizing stockouts and obsolescence.

Qualifications

• Experience with SAP or comparable purchasing and inventory management systems.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining strong attention to detail.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable to changing plant priorities.
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and changing priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
• Commitment to plant safety and continuous improvement of departmental and plant safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Analyze lead times, usage trends, reorder points, and replenishment needs to maintain inventory availability.
• Manage repair replenishment items, supplier communication, pricing updates, and PO maintenance.
• Coordinate with vendors to ensure pricing accuracy, delivery schedules, order confirmations, and supplier changes.
• Run storeroom reports to identify shortages and adjust reorder points to prevent production impact.
• Review replenishment item lists, determine stocking requirements, and place orders as needed.
• Manage MRO inventory using historical trends while reducing obsolete inventory exposure.
• Assist with projects and urgent part-sharing needs across departments and locations to support plant priorities.
• Maintain purchase orders, confirmations, price updates, vendor changes, payment terms, and supplier information.
