Job summary

K&L Gates LLP incorporated seeks a Market Development Specialist to join the Client Growth team in Charlotte, with possible offices in Chicago, New York, Washington, D.C. The role will support marketing and business development programs firmwide, coordinating with lawyers, managers and staff to deliver client-focused initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to write and produce compelling proposals, collateral, research reports and client-facing materials.
• Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated service orientation.
• Ability to interact with sophisticated internal and external clients with maturity and confidence.
• Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel; knowledge of InterAction CRM is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist practice groups and lawyers with marketing and client development projects and provide marketing support.
• Serve as primary contact for production of customized marketing packages and collateral.
• Create and deliver client-focused proposals, qualifications and presentations in response to opportunities.
• Draft, edit and proof materials such as marketing collateral and event invitations.
• Maintain and update practice group contact lists in the CRM database.
• Develop experience lists for practice areas and lawyer activities.
• Prepare competitive intelligence and market research reports leveraging firm resources.
• Coordinate development of articles, newsletters and other marketing communications.
• Plan and support events; manage mailing lists and on-site logistics.
• Track business development activities in the firm’s proposal system.
• Support office and practice public relations activities.
• Coordinate memberships in trade organizations and handle reprint permissions.
• Collaborate with the marketing team and participate in firmwide initiatives.
