Job summary

Flowserve in West Chicago, IL seeks an experienced Procurement Specialist to manage end-to-end purchasing for direct and indirect materials in our manufacturing operations.

You will drive PO execution, supplier performance, cost optimization, and collaboration with operations, planning, and engineering to ensure production continuity. Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/JD Edwards) and strong negotiation skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years in procurement in a discrete manufacturing or engineered-to-order environment.
• Proficiency with major ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards).
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications.
• Advanced Excel for spending analysis and inventory tracking.

Responsibilities

• Issue, confirm, and expedite purchase orders based on MRP demands.
• Monitor supplier on-time delivery, lead times, and quality conformance; resolve NCRs and invoice discrepancies.
• Conduct RFQs/RFPs, benchmark pricing, negotiate terms to meet PPV targets.
• Identify bottlenecks and source alternate suppliers in line with quality/engineering specs.
• Collaborate with Planning, Inventory, and Engineering on ECOs and BOM updates.
• Maintain purchasing master data in ERP (lead times, MOQs, safety stock).
