Job summary

UNACEM North America is seeking an experienced Accountant to lead key accounting processes and ensure accurate financial reporting across our manufacturing operations in the Southwest region. You will drive monthly closes, support tax compliance and partner with cross-functional teams to reinforce strong financial controls.

The role requires 5–10 years of accounting experience in manufacturing or heavy industrial environments, with a strong knowledge of GAAP and ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• Five to ten years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience in manufacturing, construction materials, mining or heavy industrial environments preferred.
• CPA preferred; CMA considered a plus.
• Bilingual is a plus (Spanish).

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close processes ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.
• Monitor GAAP accounting standards and company policies.
• Assist accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivables, inventory, reconciliations, fixed assets, payroll, intercompany transactions accruals and financial reporting.
• Perform costing to allocate product costs in line with company procedures and standards.
• Ensure compliance and submission of quarterly and annual tax forms.
• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations and financial reports.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors supporting audits.
• Partner with operations and corporate teams to ensure accurate cost allocation and reporting.
• Monitor ERP data integrity and appropriate accounting treatment of transactions.
