Job summary

SPR Packaging Rockwall is seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to ensure the accuracy of cost and inventory records, including standard costing, job costing, profitability analysis, and manufacturing variances, plus related reporting.

You will support month-end close, prepare reconciliations, participate in pricing analyses with Sales, and work with Operations to improve cost controls and internal processes in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CMA or CPA a plus.
• Minimum 2 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Cost accounting, inventory accounting, and ERP-system experience required.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, pivot tables, and lookup functions.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with deadlines including month-end/year-end peak periods.

Responsibilities

• Analyze product, customer, and operational profitability, including cost variances.
• Maintain and analyze standard costs, job costs, and variances.
• Provide timely management reporting on cost accuracy and profitability.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and close-related schedules.
• Participate in pricing analysis with Sales.
• Support inventory accounting, cycle counts, and book-to-physical reconciliations.
• Assist budgeting and forecasting; support audits.
• Collaborate with Operations, Purchasing to improve cost controls.
