Job summary

City of Redlands seeks an experienced administrative and analytical professional to support the Fire Department's managerial functions and citywide goals. You will assist in policy development, budget planning, and grant administration, with supervision of clerical staff as needed.

Under direction, you will collect and analyze information, prepare budget documents, monitor expenditures, research grants, coordinate recruitment, and process payroll and personnel tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, accounting, finance, economics or related field.
• Five years of administrative and analytical experience in local government.
• California driver's license required at appointment.
• Notary Public license within twelve months (Police/City Attorney/City Manager's office only).

Responsibilities

• Collects, analyzes information for department programs.
• Prepares mid-year and end-of-fiscal year budget documents.
• Maintains budgeting controls and monitors revenue/expenses.
• Researches and writes grant proposals and conducts audits.
• Coordinates department recruitment activities and personnel decisions.
• Performs payroll and personnel functions as needed.
• Prepares technical records and reports with data analyses and recommendations.
• Directs and evaluates clerical and administrative staff.
• Assists in drafting and implementing department policies and procedures.
• Develops funding estimates for staffing and equipment.
• Supports City Council agenda packet distribution.
