Job summary

Northeastern University is seeking an experienced Assistant Director, Major Gifts for the College of Science on the Boston campus. You will manage a 125-person prospect portfolio, craft personalized cultivation plans, and solicit leadership gifts while collaborating with COS leadership and the Dean.

The role requires strategic fundraising, travel as needed, and strong communication skills to engage alumni, parents and friends in support of COS priorities and the Dean’s Fund.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3–5 years of progressive development experience with a proven track record of closing leadership gifts.
• Willingness to travel including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of ~125 major and leadership gift prospects.
• Build relationships and move donors through qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
• Develop comprehensive solicitation strategies with COS leadership.
• Identify new prospects and secure gifts at $10K–$100K+.
• Log activity in Salesforce and maintain data integrity.
