Job summary

Northeastern University in Boston seeks a Director of Major Gifts for Khoury College, responsible for building and executing the college’s fundraising strategy. This role leads a 120+ donor portfolio, solicits gifts in the $100K–$1M+ range, and collaborates with faculty and Advancement colleagues across the university.

Reporting to the Executive Director, Interdisciplinary Advancement, the Director will travel to identify regions, maintain donor relationships, and ensure accurate prospect

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of professional experience in non-profit fundraising.
• At least 5 years of demonstrated success soliciting and closing six- and seven-figure gifts.
• Experience cultivating and soliciting alumni, parents, and friends, with positive donor relationships.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to travel overnight and work evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead major gifts fundraising and serve as the college’s content expert for Advancement.
• Cultivate, solicit, and build relationships with alumni, parents, and friends.
• Strategize with faculty on next steps for prospects across disciplines.
• Solicit gifts in the $100K–$1M+ range.
• Develop and manage a portfolio of 120+ prospects and regional plans.
• Prepare monthly prospect progress reports for leadership.
