Job summary

Dayton Freight Lines is seeking an Operations Manager in Hampshire Township, IL. You will develop efficient routing and dock procedures to meet service center budgets and customer expectations.

Responsibilities include leading drivers and dockworkers, recruiting and training staff, enforcing safety rules, and coordinating line-haul schedules with sales, maintenance and claims. Strong customer relations and continuous improvement are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the LTL/ Transportation Industry.
• Has managed Drivers and Dockworkers.
• Knowledge of the surrounding geographical area to the Service Center.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize routing and dock operations.
• Lead recruitment, training, and performance reviews for supervisory and front-line staff.
• Oversee safety, compliance and incident reporting per company and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate line-haul scheduling and service center activities with other departments.
• Maintain strong internal/external customer relations and ensure on-time performance.
