The role emphasizes maximizing equipment utilization, maintaining documentation, and ensuring safety, regulatory, and insurance compliance while supporting customers and internal partners. A Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics, or related field and 5+ years in the field are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics, Business, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management.
• Experience working with transportation and supply chain systems.
• Strong technical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Dispatches trucks and drivers using the most efficient routes to move products safely, reliably, and cost-effectively.
• Creates and maintains logistics files to track loads, routes, driver schedules, and delivery timing.
• Communicates load assignments, routes, product requirements, and schedule changes to drivers.
• Coordinates with growers, elevators, customers, and internal partners to schedule pickups and deliveries.
• Reviews contracts and load requirements to ensure appropriate truck size and equipment for barley, feed, byproduct, and freight hauls.
• Collaborates with Byproduct Sales to develop efficient routes for byproduct trucks.
• Works with outside brokers and carriers to identify freight opportunities, keep trucks loaded, and maximize revenue.
• Calculates freight rates, reviews fuel surcharges, and works with customers on hauling arrangements.
