Job summary

Verbatim Pharma on the US West Coast is seeking a Business Development Director to drive strategic growth across pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors, including clinical trials and advanced therapies. You will develop opportunities and build long-term partnerships to support outsourced services and commercial supply chains.

The role requires leading senior stakeholder engagements, managing multi-stage sales cycles, and delivering a strong pipeline of opportunities with high-impact outcomes.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of winning new business within pharma/biotech or healthcare services
• Experience selling complex B2B solutions or outsourced services
• Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to navigate long, multi-stakeholder sales cycles
• Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills
• Proactive, self-motivated approach with a passion for business development

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities across pharmaceutical and biotechnology organisations
• Build relationships with senior decision-makers within Clinical Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing and Commercial teams
• Develop strategic account plans and execute targeted business development initiatives
• Lead complex consultative sales processes from initial engagement through to contract negotiation
• Maintain an active pipeline and consistently achieve or exceed sales targets
• Represent the business at industry conferences, networking events and customer meetings
