Job summary

Santee Cooper seeks a Legal Operations Manager to lead the Legal Operations team and oversee administrative, operational, and process-related activities across the organization. You will coordinate information collection, prepare legal documents, and manage key compliance processes to ensure efficient, compliant operations.

The role also focuses on evaluating and improving department procedures, managing vendor relationships, and supporting the development of legal technology resources.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of related experience
• Demonstrated leadership experience including team or project leadership
• Experience supporting legal services in a law firm, public entity, corporate legal department, or legal services provider
• Paralegal certification or similar credential preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise Legal Operations team activities, including workload management and performance evaluation
• Coordinate collection of information for FOIA responses, litigation discovery, regulatory matters, and subpoenas
• Prepare and draft legal documents such as discovery responses and letters
• Manage legal hold processes including inventory and coordination of the internal team
• Provide administrative support and organize meeting logistics for the department
• Support budgeting, resource planning, and performance tracking for the legal department
• Measure department performance and prepare impact summaries
• Evaluate and improve intake and workflow processes
• Oversee outside legal service providers including billing reviews and conflict checks
• Maintain communication with external providers and track performance metrics
• Plan and implement legal technology systems and adoption
