Job summary

Troutman Pepper is seeking a Business Development Specialist to join the Insurance Transactional + Regulatory practice in a multi-office setup including New York. The role sits within Marketing and Business Development and focuses on strategy development, events, thought leadership, and client engagement.

The ideal candidate will have seven years of marketing and BD experience in professional services, excellent communication, and strong project management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, with a course of study in business, finance, or marketing preferred.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of marketing and business development experience, preferably within a law firm or a professional services organization.
• Strong project and process management experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing strategies to cultivate business with current and prospective clients.
• Coordinate planning and execution of events, sponsorships, webinars and speaking engagements, including venue research, budgeting, and logistics.
• Promote attorney successes with the communications team, identifying media, publishing, and speaking opportunities.
• Coordinate practice group thought leadership and blogs, including strategy and posting content.
• Identify cross-practice connections to increase internal visibility.
• Collect matter data for Foundation, the firm’s experience system.
• Handle CRM-related functions—marketing lists, research, reports.
• Assist with development of pitch materials, RFP responses, and client presentations.
• Assist with marketing expense approvals and budget management.
