Job summary

Hinds County Public Works is seeking an experienced Learning and Development Manager to design and deliver training programs for staff, including e-learning and workshops. This exempt, At-Will position requires strategic thinking and strong budgeting skills. A CPLP is a plus and familiarity with LMS is essential.

The role emphasizes evaluating development needs, leading projects, and ensuring effective policies are implemented by direct care staff. Open until filled.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Psychology or related field with 5 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience as an L&D Manager or Training Manager or similar.
• Current knowledge of effective learning and development methods.
• Familiarity with e-learning platforms and practices.
• Experience in project management and budgeting.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Learning Management Systems (LMS); strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Professional Certification (e.g. CPLP) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Implement policies and practices by direct care staff.
• Undertake administrative and program management tasks.
• Evaluate development needs of individuals and the organization.
• Design and deliver e-learning courses, workshops and other training.
• Assess the success of developmental plans and help direct care staff make the most of learning opportunities.
• Assist in evaluating and hiring direct care staff and oversee the training of direct care staff.
