Fenway Health is seeking a Director of Behavioral Health to provide strategic, operational, administrative, and clinical leadership for a large, multidisciplinary department within a Federally Qualified Health Center. The role reports to the Chief Medical Officer and oversees outpatient, integrated, psychiatry, education, and the Violence Recovery Program, aligning with mission-driven priorities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, mental health, or related field.
• Independent licensure in Massachusetts.
• At least 10 years in behavioral health.
• Minimum of five years leadership in behavioral health programs.
• Strong supervisory and management experience.
• Experience with LGBTQIA+ populations.
• Leadership in FQHC settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for all Behavioral Health programs and services.
• Directly supervise department managers and Medical Director of Behavioral Health.
• Set annual goals, priorities, and operational plans.
• Develop workforce plans for demand, recruitment, retention, and growth.
• Ensure collaboration across Behavioral Health leadership and Fenway Health.
• Oversee services across in-person, telehealth, and hybrid models.
• Maintain standards for quality, access, patient experience, and clinical excellence.
• Ensure regulatory readiness and compliance with HRSA, Joint Commission, and payer rules.
• Develop budgets and monitor financial performance.
• Lead strategic planning for new programs and expansion.
• Represent Behavioral Health in leadership and planning activities.
