Job summary

Fenway Health in Boston, MA seeks a Director of Behavioral Health to lead a 60+ person department within our FQHC. This role provides strategic and operational direction across outpatient, integrated, psychiatry, training, and Violence Recovery programs, reporting to the Chief Medical Officer.

You will shape departmental strategy, manage budgets and staffing, drive quality and equity, promote cross-department collaboration, and advance care models including telehealth and hybrid care.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, mental health, or related field.
• Independent licensure in Massachusetts.
• 10+ years of work experience in the behavioral health field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible leadership experience leading behavioral health programs.
• Experience working with LGBTQIA+ populations.

Responsibilities

• Provides strategic, operational, and administrative leadership for the Behavioral Health Department.
• Directly supervises department managers and clinical leaders.
• Develops workforce plans and annual goals for the department.
• Oversees quality improvement, regulatory readiness, and performance improvement.
• Promotes integration of Behavioral Health with other clinical services and primary care.
