Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking an Assistant Director of Student Organizations (SOC) to provide strategic leadership and administrative oversight for student organization registration, coaching, and the SOC. You will supervise full-time staff, establish procedures, and ensure services align with the unit's mission.

Responsibilities span development strategy, staff supervision, space oversight, annual registrations, and technology-enabled communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and two years of experience developing, administering, and implementing programs for college students.
• Experience advising student groups or working in student personnel or student services.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including presentations, written correspondence, and reports.
• An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Establish priorities for student organization coaching, workshops, and developmental resources; manage education on finances, operations, travel, leadership development, risk management, and policies.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate professional, paraprofessional, and student staff; oversee graduate and undergraduate teams.
• Provide administrative oversight of the SOC and Art Center space, resources, and service standards; review records and audits.
• Oversee the annual campus student organization registration process; guide policy interpretation and compliance.
• Lead communications and marketing; manage Engage, Campus Groups, Mazevo, Qualtrics, and Microsoft Office usage.
• Manage program goals, data collection, assessment, and reporting for SOC programs and events.
• Assist in special assignments and committees on behalf of Student Organizations and Texas Student Experience.
