Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking an Assistant Director of Student Organizations (SOC) in Student Life to provide strategic leadership and administrative oversight for student organization registration, organizational coaching, and the Student Organization Center.

This role will supervise full-time staff and guide operations aligning with the unit’s mission to empower student leaders and foster campus involvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Two years of experience developing, administering, and implementing programs for college students.
• Experience advising student groups or working in student personnel or student services.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, administration, and external stakeholders.
• Professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for student organization registration and coaching.
• Oversee the Student Organization Center (SOC) and related spaces and services.
• Supervise full-time staff and collaborate with graduate and undergraduate student teams.
• Develop procedures and standards for operations, space use, and administrative processes.
• Coordinate communications, marketing efforts, and promotional materials.
• Support program development, assessment, and evaluation of Student Organization programs.
