D.R. Horton is seeking a Land Acquisition Area Manager in Akron, OH. You will source, evaluate, negotiate, and secure land opportunities to support division growth.

You’ll lead transactions from identification to closing, coordinating due diligence across entitlement, environmental, engineering, and legal reviews while presenting acquisitions to senior leadership. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent years of experience.
• 5–7 years in land acquisition, development, real estate, or homebuilding.
• Ability to independently manage complex transactions and make sound recommendations.
• Demonstrated initiative and persistence in identifying and securing acquisition opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue land acquisition opportunities aligning with objectives and housing demand forecasts.
• Lead negotiations with landowners, brokers, developers, attorneys, and other stakeholders.
• Evaluate opportunities through financial analysis, due diligence, and risk assessments.
• Structure transactions to maximize profitability while minimizing risk.
• Coordinate due diligence and entitlement, environmental, engineering, and legal reviews.
• Prepare and present acquisition recommendations to senior leadership for approval.
• Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, developers, landowners, and industry professionals.
• Manage transactions through contract execution, approval processes, and closing activities.
• Represent the company at industry events and meetings.
• Support long-range land planning and growth initiatives.
