Job summary

D.R. Horton is seeking a Land Acquisitioner to acquire undeveloped land or finished lots for development, coordinating with owners, brokers, and city officials. You will underwrite financial aspects and negotiate contracts, traveling as needed.

Two to four sentences follow describing the required experience and the collaboration with various stakeholders to secure profitable land deals.

Qualifications

• Fifth year college or university program certificate is required.
• Four to six years related experience and/or training required.
• Proficiency with MS Office and email communication.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, secure and organize land acquisition leads.
• Respond to new leads from outside sources with an initial plan.
• Perform title and municipal research and initial inquiries on land leads.
• Meet with sellers or their representatives where applicable.
• Provide property details, seller demands, terms and contact information to management.
• Prepare letters of intent.
• Maintain relationships with land developers, brokers and owners.
• Underwrite and analyze financial aspects of development opportunities.
• Communicate with city officials regularly.
• Negotiate purchase contracts with sellers.
• Conduct business professionally to enhance goodwill and profit.
• Be able to travel overnight.
