Job summary

HCA Healthcare Laboratory Services in Florida seeks a senior laboratory manager to lead hospital rapid-response laboratories, ensure quality, safety and regulatory compliance, and partner with IRL System leadership.

The role directs department operations, oversees budgets, staff development, and procurement of equipment, while driving performance improvements and customer satisfaction across all lab services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree required.
• State of Florida Supervisor's License in at least 3 areas: Blood Bank/Immunohematology - Chemistry - Hematology - Histology - Microbiology - Serology/Immunology.
• 3+ years of supervisory/management experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and/or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).

Responsibilities

• Monitor performance to ensure adherence to policies, timelines and regulatory requirements.
• Review and update department policies annually; implement new procedures as needed.
• Develop and monitor policy changes; ensure attendance at mandatory in-services and staff meetings.
• Monitor resource utilization and prepare budgets and expenditure reports; participate in MOR.
• Provide management, coaching, guidance, delegation opportunities, and on-the-job training for staff.
• Direct and organize the operations of hospital rapid-response laboratories; coordinate with IRL System management.
• Maintain regular two-way communications and integration with core lab and hospital personnel; participate in town hall meetings.
• Stay abreast of regulatory changes affecting the laboratory and implement timely changes.
• Investigate, recommend and procure equipment, supplies and instrumentation.
