The City of New York, Office of Labor Relations, is seeking two Assistant Negotiators to join the Executive Division, handling bargaining and implementation of agreements for the city’s 350,000+ unionized employees.

Under direction, you will assist the Commissioner in designated areas of labor relations, including collective bargaining, mediation, fact-finding and contract administration, with opportunities to lead smaller negotiations and collaborate with legal counsel.

Competenze

• Master’s degree and four years of professional labor research and analysis or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree with five years of professional experience including 18 months in supervision.
• Education/experience equivalent with a bachelor’s degree and 18 months supervisory experience.

Mansioni

• Assist the Commissioner and senior staff on labor relations problems.
• Lead negotiations with small bargaining units or minor issues.
• Advise city agencies as labor relations consultants.
• Coordinate with DCAS, OMB, FISA-OPA, and Law Department.
• Prepare and present cases at fact-finding hearings or arbitration.
• Draft and review contracts and settlements.
