Job summary

Ciena, a global leader in high-speed connectivity, seeks an Advisor, Competitive Intelligence to drive ITDC competitive efforts and provide strategic insights to Sales, Marketing, PLM, CTO, and R&D.

You will synthesize data from proprietary databases, analyst research, and customer feedback to inform executive decisions and enable effective differentiation across marketing and product strategy.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills to distill large volumes of technical, market, and competitive data into concise actionable insights for executive and technical audiences.
• Solid understanding of the networking equipment supply chain and ecosystem dependencies.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work on deadlines.
• Ability to build trusted cross-functional relationships and work independently in a fast-moving market.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive competitive analysis of ITDC solutions and identify key market participants, strategies and implications for Ciena.
• Monitor competitor activity including product launches, partnerships, and go-to-market campaigns and assess impact on business.
• Provide strategic and tactical competitive intelligence support to Sales, Marketing, PLM, CTO, R&D and other stakeholders.
• Create and deliver customized competitive intelligence assets, tools, briefings, and presentations.
• Ensure competitive messaging aligns with product, technology and business value propositions.
