Ciena is seeking an experienced Advisor, Competitive Intelligence to lead Inside-the-Data-Center (ITDC) competitive efforts. The role blends market, business, and technology analysis to anticipate shifts and respond to new threats, shaping strategic messaging and go-to-market positioning.

You will synthesize insights from analyst research, customer feedback, and competitive activity for Sales, Marketing, PLM, CTO, and R&D, delivering briefings, battlecards, and presentations that sharpen

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline is required.
• MBA or equivalent business degree is a plus.
• Experience in technical, sales engineering, business development, or competitive intelligence roles in networking, optical, semiconductor, or data center infra industries.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive competitive analysis of ITDC solutions, identifying market participants, strategies, strengths, weaknesses, threats, and implications for Ciena.
• Monitor competitor activity including product launches, messaging, partnerships, ecosystem moves, M&A, and go-to-market campaigns.
• Provide strategic competitive intelligence support to Sales, Marketing, PLM, CTO, R&D, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure competitive messaging aligns with Ciena’s product, technology, and business value propositions.
• Create and deliver customized competitive intelligence assets, tools, and briefings.
