Job summary

The State of Idaho, Information Technology Services (ITS) in Boise is seeking an IT Systems and Infrastructure Engineer IV to design, implement, and support enterprise infrastructure. The role demands leadership in strategic technology planning and in complex network/server/storage projects, with a focus on reliability and security across agencies.

Responsibilities include overseeing architecture, interfacing with stakeholders, and guiding deployment and optimization efforts.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent IT coursework or 2+ years of IT work experience within the last five years.
• Three+ years planning, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network/server/storage systems as part of primary responsibilities.
• Two+ years resolving network or server problems as a core duty in the last five years.
• Two+ years collaborating with end users to develop IT solutions for business needs.
• Experience as a project leader on a multi-phase project within the last two years.
• Some knowledge of supervisory practices gained through work assignments or relevant coursework.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots technology problems with awareness of architectural context.
• Participates in system design and shares technical insights with agency stakeholders.
• Translates business requirements into technology solutions and networks.
• Develops plans to address implementation obstacles and risks.
• Provides input into the technology plan and ensures alignment with infrastructure goals.
• Leads and contributes to multi-phase projects and large deployments.
