Job summary

Vanguard Management Solutions in Washington, DC is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to lead enterprise systems development and infrastructure projects within a portfolio and project management team. You will oversee budgets, schedules, vendor relationships, and risk management while ensuring deliverables meet client requirements and acceptance criteria.

This role requires strong communication, business process analysis, and SDLC expertise, with PMP and ITIL certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience managing enterprise IT projects and developing project plans.
• Experience managing four to five concurrent projects with budgets exceeding $500,000.
• Ability to coordinate resources and delivery within a matrixed organization.
• Knowledge of systems development life cycle standards and guidelines.
• Strong business process analysis, data review, and data migration skills.
• Knowledge of the Project Management Body of Knowledge and project management plans.
• Clear written and verbal communication, including translating technical concepts for business and nontechnical audiences.
• Project Management Professional certification and ITIL certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Site Implementation and Delivery; assess site infrastructure requirements and prepare system requirements and specifications for business applications.
• Manage equipment provisioning, procurement, and installation.
• Assess risks related to cost, scope, duration, and resources.
• Set stakeholder expectations and clarify project roles and responsibilities.
• Manage vendors, monitor costs and schedules, adjust resources, report performance.
• Develop and maintain the project management plan, charter, scope statement, risk register, and status reports.
• Coordinate software releases with project teams, infrastructure teams, and vendors.
• Lead project and status meetings; investigate issues and coordinate resolution.
• Maintain the risk register, develop contingency plans, and monitor change control.
